 Michael Richard Sexton was born in 1947. in Shelby, Indiana. After finishing Ohio State university in 1970. he joins the American army and goes to a Vietnam at war, but only spending a few weeks there. He returns to the US quite rapidly considering that the many-year conflict has ended. Later he worked as a salesman, and he begins playing poker during that period. In the following years he improves his game, but still, poker wasn’t his main source of income. Playing became part of his daily activities when he moved to Nevada in 1985. There he met the legend of poker, Stu Ungar, and there friendship lasted until Ungar’s death. Mike spoke at his closest friend’s funeral, and found his death quite difficult to bare.
This poker player has so far earned around $3.700.000. In 1989. he won his first, and so far only WSOP bracelet. After that he played for years on all the biggest poker tournaments and often made it to the paid spots and victories. Nevertheless, Sexton has turned to a completely different calling in the last couple of years. He is currently the host and main commentator of the prestigious World Poker Tour, and also works as a special commentator for the online Party Poker. Of course he hasn’t neglected his biggest love, and occasionally goes to poker tournaments.
